Cocoa Beach is a beautiful beach side town that is located due east of Orlando, Walt Disney World and Kissimmee by about 45 minutes. It is just a few minutes south of Titusville, New Smyrna Beach, Daytona Beach, Oak Hill and boarders the Mosquito Lagoon, Banana River and the Indian River Lagoon system. It is within a few minutes of Port Canaveral, Rockledge, Sebastian, and the cruise lines as well.

It is world known for having strong ties to America's space race in the early days of NASA and the famous 60's TV show, "I Dream of Jeannie" was filmed here. It still has a very big connection with the United States Air Force, now known as the USA Space Force and the Kennedy Space Center, along with of course Ron Jon Surf Shop. While here you may be able to see one of the many rocket launches that are done periodically and almost daily. Just Google it, the launch you are looking to see, and we may be able to sync a flats fishing trip along with it. And now it is home to Space X and the Falcon 9 Rocket.

Along with the great soft sandy beaches, famous surfing, outdoor parks, fine dinning and family entertainment here there is plenty of fun for any and all holiday vacations you are on. You are only minutes from outstanding backcountry flats fishing and saltwater sight fishing here in east central Florida. Even some fantastic deep sea fishing is within miles of the coast. This is the best and closest fishing near Kissimmee, Orlando and Disney, period!

Bottle nose dolphin, west Indies manatee, both logger head and green sea turtles, and coastal birds live within the Banana River Lagoon and Mosquito Lagoon. During the winter time, the bird population climbs by the thousands as many species migrate here from the colder northern areas. This is also a photographers dream come true.

Light Tackle Saltwater Flats Fishing Titusville

Titusville is located just 35 minutes east of Orlando, Kissimmee and Disney. Known for the great American Space Coast, NASA, SpaceX and the Kennedy Space Center in Brevard County. However on top of that, it is also home to some of the greatest backcountry light tackle flats fishing east central Florida has to offer. A destination not to be overlooked while here in Florida.

Fishing here is done on the Indian River, Banana River, Port Canaveral, Ponce Inlet and Mosquito Lagoon located inside the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and Canaveral National Seashore. These two areas make up a small part of NASA and has been set aside for the publics use. It is more than 300 square miles large and is primitive.

Backcountry Tarpon Fishing New Smyrna Beach

New Smyrna Beach is a small beach town located just a few miles south of the famous Daytona Beach and about 20 miles north of Titusville and just east of Orlando and Disney. For the locals here it is pristine, clean and hardly any tourism here. Straight up locals only, however it holds some of the greatest fishing there is here. If you get a chance come here for some of the best sights to see and things to do along with a tarpon trip.

Fishing here is a prime area for the tarpon in east central Florida, both big and small ones. Very big bull redfish and some very nice snook are known for this area as well. The tarpon are here from April up through October pretty much, with summer being outstanding for them. The big bull redfish and snook are here year round.
